Daniel's Birthday Party

This past weekend we celebrated Daniel's 2nd birthday. Friends and family all came together to celebrate our zany little boy and enjoy in his love of all things cars. His actual birthday was on Monday and I'll post a separate post on his at home birthday party but for now, here's a photo loaded glimpse of his Friends Party on Sunday afternoon.
Treat table loaded with cupcakes, popcorn and candy.

We loaded up a platter of hot dogs, veggies and chips for dinner.

This cardboard cars were the hit of the party! I took 4 shipping boxes, primed, painted and decorated them as Daniel's favorite toys. I cut holes in the tops and the kids had a blast running around in them.

Bridger was the first kid to start his engines.

Daniel loved eating, of course! And, while the big kids played, Daniel ate. So typical!

The balloons provided tons of entertainment throughout the party.

Friends ate, laughed and had tons of fun. (Hi Erika! My one reader!)

Happy birthday, My sweet two year old!

The races commenced! It was mass chaos and tons of fun!

This is the most decent photo of Daniel and I that was taken all day long. It's obvious he was way more interested in the games and cars then taking photos with Momma.
Then, it was Cupcake time!

Little D loved the icing and ate almost 3 cupcake icing tops. Geez, can you say sugar high?
Then, Daniel was showered with love from his friends and received tons of amazing presents. Each one was so perfect for him and his interests. Thank you so much!

We wound down the party with soon balloon popping. Lots of noise!

After packing up the car, we headed home to unwind, play with all the toys and have a great night sleep.
Daniel had an amazing day and completely enjoyed himself. I'm so glad the Vintage Car theme party was a hit and the cardboard box cars were enjoyed by everyone, big and small.
Daniel thanked his Daddy for such a great day. However, Dave and I are the blessed ones, we get to enjoy life with such an amazing little boy. We love you, Daniel. Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Month!

Growing up birthdays were a huge deal. We celebrated the entire month. My mom would kick off our birthday month with a special dessert or present on the first day of the month. The celebration continued with days dedicated to fun, presents and lots of love each week. The birthday month ended with a bang on the last day of the month.

It was a fun way to grow up and get older. Even as an adult, I still celebrate my birthday month. I think my husband starts to cringe mid-December because he knows the next month I won't stop talking about my birthday.

April 1st was a special day in our house. It was the start of Daniel's birthday month!

We have been practicing saying "I'm two!" and practicing blowing out candles.

Happy birthday month, Daniel!
