Good things

  • Tomorrow, we leave on our Babymoon! Costa Rica, here I come!
  • One of my two sprained ankles and one strained wrist are healing nicely. One ankle is still swollen and inflamed after three weeks.
  • We found out our adoption agency is going to Korea in April. We will get photos and a video!
  • The snow is melting! I am crossing my fingers that it is all gone by the time we get home from CR. I know it's not going to happen, but I'm praying for a heat wave.

The Grand Merge

What's a GogoHoz, you may ask? If you are one of my blogger or internet friends, and don't know me in person, you may be confused by the title of my blog.

My maiden name is Gogolen. Gogo, for short. I loved my last name before we got married. I always knew I would take my future husbands last name, but I was fairly attached to being a Gogo.

Dave's last name is Delahoz, or Hoz, for short.

Together, we make GogoHoz

Denver Bound

This is my current view from my desk at home. I'm so tired of looking at the snow.

This afternoon, I'm heading down to Denver for the day and get to enjoy a few of my favorite things. Fro Yo, Warm weather and high heels. I get so excited when I get to wear heals. The snow isn't too condusive to peep toe shoes.

Everyone has the Internet!

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and wisdom to know the difference.

The first line of the Serenity Prayer has been in my mind a lot the last few weeks. For those of you who know me, you are well aware of how much of a control-freak I am. I like to organize and manipulate all the details of my life. I have a system for things and a place for everything. I like structure, I like plans and I like knowing when to expect things. When something does not go my way or when something I don't like isn't controllable by me, it sets me off. I go down this downward spiral. It becomes all I can think about, it snowballs in my head and eventually consumes me. It takes every last ounce of energy for me to let it go and calm down.

We have not had an update on Daniel in almost 5 months. When I say it's killing me not knowing anything, believe me, it's KILLING me. I do not understand why someone in Korean cannot just open up an email program and shoot my US based agency a quick 4 sentence paragraph telling us how our kid is and then attaching a photo. I simply cannot comprehend how someone is too busy not to send an update once in 5 months. How hard is it to write an email? How hard is it to attach a photo? Come on, it's the year 2011-everyone has the Internet!

C is for Cookie

My brother brought over this jacket for me the other day.
It's soft and furry and super warm.

It's completely lined with the blue fuzzy material and has it on the bottom hip and cuffs.
However, It reminds me of a certain TV character from my childhood. And, I'm not certain I want to look like him.

Baby Shower

This weekend, my friend Megan hosted a baby shower for our mutual good friend Jen. I provided the location and ambiance and Megan did an amazing job with all the food, favors and activities.

We had a full house with lots of guests. Jen looked amazing and we are all so excited to love on her little baby girl who will be making her grand entrance in another 6 weeks or so.
We cannot wait to meet your little baby, Jen!

Daniel's first package

Today, Daniel received his first package. I went to the post office to pick up my mail, had a notice that I had a parcel behind the counter and got on line to pick it up. (We live in a town that does not deliver mail to houses, you have to go to the post office to get it daily.) I wasn't expecting anything so when the mail man came around the corner carrying this huge box, I got a little curious. Then, he says, "This is for Daniel". He must have seen the shock on my face because he then asked, "There is a Daniel in your family, right?" I answered yes and then lugged this box out to my car.

Dave's mother is so excited to have another grandbaby. I know they love Daniel so much already, even though we have only seen photos. She loves to shop and shower our child with clothes, toys and things for his bedroom.

I guess I need to clean out the closet in Daniel's bedroom so I have a place to store all of his goodies.

We are so thankful for the love that our families show our little boy! I cannot wait for him to get here so we can play with all these great toys.
