Two months home

Last week marked the second month Daniversary (2 months home). Daniel's third post placement visit is in a few days and his court paperwork for finalization is being filed tomorrow. It amazes me how well Daniel fits into our little family. In come ways, it feels like he's been with us forever. Other times, I ask myself, "Who the heck is this little guy?" His personality and silliness continue to show new layers each day. He brings smiles to my face constantly.
He is babbling non-stop and makes the cutest noises. Not little noises, but LOUD ones, he talks in max volume all the time. There is nothing quiet about this kid.

He can say a few words. He can say momma (although he has yet to call me that), he says dad and up for when he wants to be held. He picks up sign language really quickly and uses the signs for more, drink, eat/hungry and please often.
We spend our days out and about all over town. I'm a constant errand-runner so Daniel gets lots of car time with me each day. We participate in a Moms Morning Out each Monday and he is starting Wee School (before Pre-K) in 2 weeks. He loves going to the park with friends and gets excited when he sees kids his age.
Uncle TJ and Aunt Lele are daily parts of Daniels life and it's great to see his face light up when he sees them. (We light up too because of free babysitting. Don't hate!)
Daniel keeps me on my toes and keeps me laughing. He keeps me up at night, but I don't mind. I get to snuggle with my little man and watch him as he falls back asleep.

Second Annual Cupcake Wars

Last night marked the Second Annual Cupcake Wars which my good friend Megan organizes. Each women in attendance makes some yummy delicacy and we watch an episodes or two of the popular tv show. We don't judge the cupcakes or choose favorites, it's more about fun and tastings.

This year I made Apple Caramel Cupcakes with a Cinnamon Buttercream icing. They were delicious! I even had one for breakfast this morning.
Holly and her Mom created beautiful and incredibly creative chocolate mint cupcakes with a mint icing decorated with butterflies.
Megan made Key Lime cupcakes with a dark chocolate swizzle.
We also had lemon cupcakes with a lemon glaze, strawberry sugar free cupcakes and white chocolate berry cheesecake cupcakes. It was a night over sugar indulgence.
