Texas Baby Shower
This weekend, my Texas friends and family threw the Big Man a baby shower. To say I was and still am overwhelmed by the love we were shown is an understatement. Words cannot express how amazing the day was.
The weather was not typical for Texas in the middle of May. We had clear sky's, a nice breeze and cool air. We made a last minute change of plans and decided to have the shower outdoors so we could enjoy the beautiful day.
The beautifully kept yard is my mother in laws house. She graciously opened her home to the hostesses and we had the shower there.

We dined on delicious fruit and rich chocolate cupcakes. My favorite things in life!
Our friends and family SHOWERED Daniel with toys, books, clothes and all the supplies us first time parents could need.

Ramblings
It's been a while since I posted. For a bit, I didn't have anything to say, I was so frustrated about our lost photos and video in the mail. It finally came!
My husband was out of town all last week. I was really disappointed we wouldn't be able to watch the video (when it came!) together for the first time. There is just something so special about being able to hold his hand and "meet" our little boy together for the first time.
So, he was gone when it came but there is no way in the world that I'd have the strength not to watch it for a week. I just couldn't wait another second.
The video was wonderful. Ten minutes of pure joy! Our little boy is so cute. He is a chunk, he's busy, so active and curious. He crawled all over the room, he was constantly on the move. He was into everything. The first thing my mother said when she watched it was, "Wow, your life is really going to change"! I believe her!
I know we still have a few more months of waiting, but I finally feel like we're in the home stretch to bring D home! We should be submitted for EP (Emigration Permission) in the next 2 months. After EP approval, it's 4-6 weeks until he travels.
Today my husband and I are heading to Texas. We haven't been down to see hubs family in a long time, so we're due. Plus, it's snowing outside again (yes, snow on May 11th and 12th!) and I cannot handle it. So, we're outta here!
Sunday is my first ever baby shower. In fact, it's my first shower of any kind. I elected not to have a wedding shower when I got married. Dave's mom and a few of our Texas friends are hosting the shower this weekend. I feel so spoiled and blessed! It's a wonderful feeling to know that people all over the place love us and want to celebrate our little boy.
I'll post details next week once I'm back. In the meantime, I just cleaned out my SD card for my camera. Enjoy my randomness.

When Dave goes out to eat, he likes to organize his food. Straight lines, rows of bits. I married an odd one.
I miss my parents.
Remember the diary I found in one of my rental units? Well, I opened it. (I know, don't hate!) It was teenage sense-less ramblings. Typical boring stuff, "I like this boy, I failed a test, my mom is a pain", bla bla bla. No big secrets or anything .

I'm in love!
After numerous phone calls to our adoption agency, we finally figured out they mailed the video and photo disks to the wrong address. I knew something was wrong! I had our social worker email me the photos directly. We're still waiting on the video to come. (They remailed it once it was returned to their office as undeliverable.)
In the meantime, here's my little boy! He has grown so much and is turning into such a little bowling ball of squishyness!

Now I can continue to stalk my post office box for the video. I cannot wait to hear his laugh!

Going Postal
After going to the post office at least three times a day since Wed, they still have not arrived. Other waiting families all over Colorado and all the other states our agency services have received their photos. We still have not.
I called our agency this afternoon and begged them to send me another copy. We'll see if that one arrives before June.
