Perfect Timing for a perfect day

After the phone call on July 11 telling us that Daniel would be home and in our arms in 9 short days, my brain went into overdrive. I really had not prepared for his arrival at all. I had clothes and his bedroom stuff, but not much was set up in there. Dave and I are very much planners, but for some reason I didn't really want to see Daniels stuff all set up in his room far in advance before his arrival. I didn't want or need the reminder that he wasn't here.

However, with his arrival in 9 days time, we wanted to get everything all set up for him and ready for everything we could possibly need. One little problem-we had house guests. Those house guests were currently staying in the guest bedroom that would turn into Daniels bedroom. As the guests were my parents, we had no problem kicking them out and moving them into my sisters house.

While I wanted to shop, shop and shop some more for Daniel, several of my friends were graciously throwing a baby shower in Daniel's honor the weekend before he arrived. We had planned the date for it back in May and it turned out to be perfect timing as the special boy would be arriving 4 days after the big party.

The day turned out to be an amazing Colorado bluebird day. The weather was perfect. My girlfriends Megan, Jen, Hannah and my sister Kristy Lee had an amazing eye for detail and the shower reflected my taste perfectly!

The flowers and food were AMAZING! Salads, fresh fruit and great desserts were set out under an adorable display of Daniel photos.

The girls had made favors filled with peppermint salt water taffy. That is one of my favorite candies! The boxes had little tags with Daniels name on it. Love!

The day was filled with wonderful friends and family!
