Happy Daniel Day

I was on top of things right after we got home from the airport on July 20, Daniel's Family Day. You can read about it again here. I didn't really post any photos from it, so I'm still playing catch up.

Our airport homecoming was exactly how I envisioned it-a giant party. Anyone who knows me knows I create events out of the simplest things. I wanted our Daniel Day to be something that I remembered, Dave remembered and all the friends and family remembered for a lifetime.

My parents trip to Colorado for Daniel's baby shower overlapped with Daniel's arrival day so they were able to share in our first time seeing our little boy. My sister Kristy Lee and brother Tommy were both there, as well as some friends from out adoption world. Mark, Megan and their two children came to celebrate.

We had an hour to kill before Daniel's flight landed. We waited upstairs with our family and a few friends.

Three other families were meeting their children the same evening as us. The four "newbies" were arriving via escort and there was a huge group waiting for their arrival.

Finally...the plane landed and the escorts and children were coming up the ramp. The photo below is certainly not the most flattering picture of me, but it's the only one I have that captures the first moment I saw my son.

Four children from Korea were on the same flight. We knew Daniel was a big baby, but HOLY MOLY, he was so much larger than all the other three! 

 I remember squatting here just staring at him, he was adorable and I was so in love already.
